Industry News - September 17, 2026 - Liangshan, Shandong
The 22nd China (Liangshan) Special Purpose Vehicle Exhibition opened today at the Liangshan International Convention and Exhibition Center in Jining, Shandong Province, and will run through September 19.
Co-hosted by the China Association of Automobile Manufacturers (CAAM) and the Shandong Automobile Industry Association, the show is the largest in its history. Total exhibition space has grown 20 percent to 100,000 square meters, including 70,000 square meters for complete vehicles and 30,000 for parts and components. More than 100 vehicle manufacturers and over 600 component suppliers are exhibiting, with exhibitor numbers up 20 percent from last year.
Major makers such as FAW Jiefang, Dongfeng, Beiben Trucks, Foton and SAIC Hongyan are presenting their latest models, joined for the first time by Scania. Leading trailer and special-vehicle builders, including Tongya, Yangjia, Shengrui, Shandong Sanxing and Lingyu Langchen, are showcasing feed-transport semi-trailers, engineering work trucks, workover rigs and mixer-pump vehicles, most of them positioned for export markets.
Three themes dominate this year's show: lightweighting and regulatory compliance under the 2026 editions of GB 1589 and GB 7258, new energy vehicles, and going global. A dedicated export zone gathers models configured for Southeast Asia, Africa and the Middle East, where Chinese semi-trailers now compete strongly on cost and tariff advantages. Liangshan's special-purpose vehicle cluster already ships to more than 90 countries and regions, with over 140 local manufacturers listed in the national announcement catalogue and a local parts matching rate above 70 percent.
Two export-focused events run alongside the exhibition. On September 18, the China (Liangshan) Commercial Vehicle and Parts Export Development Conference takes place in Hall N3, followed by the "Ten Thousand Enterprises Going Global" Shandong Auto Industry Procurement Matchmaking Session, which brings buyers from Europe, the Americas, Southeast Asia, the Middle East and Africa to pre-arranged one-on-one talks.
The show reflects a booming export cycle. CAAM data show China exported 792,000 trucks in the first eight months of 2026, up 41.2 percent year on year, including 106,000 units in August alone, up 59.8 percent.
